Jeyoosh (Amer) won in a good style the Prix The President of the U.A.E. Cup (L PA), at Casablanca racecourse, Morocco, on Sunday, 19 November . The Al Shaqab Racing-owned mare took the lead of the race beside Autza (Jaman). Ridden by Julien Augé, Jeyoosh came in the middle of the home straight and managed to accelerate again. Jeyoosh was not even preoccupied by Bachar de Carrère’s (Kerbella) attack in the last 200 meters and she won easily.
Thomas Fourcy, trainer of the winner, said: “The mare was very good in the morning, but she did not travel well, so we were wondering if we would run her or not. Her owners trusted me in order to take the right decision and I thank them for that. Jeyoosh will now return to stud. She ends her career nicely.”

Khalifa Al Attiya: Jeyoosh retires to stud and we target Qatar Derby
Jeyoosh rounded off her career winning the President of the U.A.E. Cup at Casablanca racecourse, Morocco following a prolific career.
Khalifa Bin Mohammed Al Attiya, Al Shaqab Executive Director, lauded Jeyoosh’s win. “Her form was brilliant”, he said, “She managed to win the title and add a new victory to her record at Casablanca, confirming her merit, especially as this recent success was a comfortable one, reflecting her ability to put such type of races to bed.
Jeyoosh will now retire to stud in France following her fine career. This is another step in Al Shaqab’s strategy of improving the quality of breeding through well-known horse, who have won titles in various races. That was already done with the legendary Treve, the winner of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Trimphe two times in a row. We seek to ensure excellent breeding for Al Shaqab over the coming years. The outcome of such breeding efforts will be largely reflected gradually in races, especially as we have finished with the overseas racing season and we have the time to consider things and select runners who can attain the results which Al Shaqab always look forward to. The first strong race we are targeting in the near future will be the Qatar International Derby at Al Rayyan racecourse, QREC, in late December.”
